Winnipeg Jets defenceman Brenden Dillon‘s hand was bleeding badly in a scary scene at the end of his team’s Game 3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Friday.

As numerous skirmishes broke out on the ice at the buzzer, blood dripped on the ice as Dillon was tussling with Colorado’s Brandon Duhaime.

The linesman appeared to try to tell Dillon to break loose and get off the ice as he tried to end the scrum.

Coach Rick Bowness said the team still was examining Dillon after the game.

Dillon, 33, had eight goals and 12 assists in 77 games this season.

The native of New Westminster, B.C. has played 84 career playoff games.
