The man allegedly killed in a fight at a suburban home in Western Sydney was plagued by a medical condition that left him with fragile brittle bones.

Now his family has hit back at claims Bradley Evennett, 32, was involved in martial arts and had been mentored in cagefighting by his alleged killer, Brad Fletcher, 38.

The pair were pictured smooching up to each other in a haunting final social media post just weeks before Mr Evennett died.

But Fletcher was arrested by police after he was allegedly found hiding in bushes near Mr Evennett’s body which had been dumped close to his home.

Fletcher was accused of killing Mr Evennett just hours after the pair moved into their new home together on Annan Avenue in Melonba, near Mt Druitt, on Friday night.

NSW Police allege Fletcher killed Mr Evennett between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Friday, March 22.

They allege he then drove his body 700m down the road and left it on a footpath where it was discovered by a mother walking with her two children.

In the wake of the tragedy, friends and family of Mr Evennett dismissed suggestions he was involved in martial arts fighting.

They revealed he ‘always had a bone marrow problem where his bones would break easily his whole life,’ said one.

‘He is funny and humble, and not at all a fighter. He was such a amazing person.’

The close relative added: ‘He was not a cage fighter, he was not beginning a career in MMA and had no intentions to.’

Mr Evennett’s bone marrow ailment meant that he had to be careful of even simple movement and could never been involved in any kind of physical fighting.

Detectives allegedly found the Annan Avenue home in a state ‘consistent with a fight taking place’ after they searched it following the discovery of Mr Evennett’s body lying on nearby Georgina Crescent.

Police said in a statement they ‘found a deceased male with significant head and body injuries and NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated the man, however, he died at the scene’.

Shortly after, police were called to a nearby collision with a parked car of a vehicle they alleged was used to convey Mr Evennett’s body to where it was dumped.

Police then ‘located and arrested a man who had been hiding in bushes’ and took him to Mt Druitt police station.

The mother who made the shock discovery of Mr Evennett’s body on the footpath described how she had first walked past the spot and seen ‘nothing’ but when I came back after 10 minutes the man was here, I saw him,’ she told Nine News

Emergency services arrived at the scene about 8.45pm but were unable to revive Mr Evennett.

Fletcher was charged with murder and formally refused bail at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.

Mr Evennett and Fletcher’s close friendship seems evident in one photo showing the pair sitting closely on a couch with Mr Evennett kissing Fletcher’s cheek.

The photo was taken just seven weeks before Mr Evennett’s death.

In another photo with a pregnant woman, believed to be Fletcher’s former partner, the alleged victim has his arm around the Fletcher’s shoulder.
