Gamer Tyler Blevins Reveals Melanoma Diagnosis

0

Tyler Blevins, the 32-year-old video gaming superstar and the “Ice Cream”-costumed competitor on The Masked Singer, has revealed a diagnosis of melanoma after a mole removed from his foot proved to be skin cancer.

Blevins, who competes under the name Ninja and has been described by The New York Times as the “multimillionaire face of the popular battle royale video game Fortnite,” posted a message on X/Twitter yesterday disclosing the diagnosis.

“Alright I’m still in a bit of shock but want to keep you all updated,” wrote Blevins on his Ninja X/Twitter account. “A few weeks ago I went in to a dermatologist for an annual skin/mole check that [wife] Jess proactively scheduled for me. There was a mole on the bottom of my foot that they wanted to remove just to be careful.”

Blevins continued, “It came back as melanoma, but they are optimistic that we caught it in the early stages. I had another dark spot appear near it, so today they biopsied that and removed a larger area around the melanoma with the hopes that under the microscope they will see clear non-melanoma edges and we will know we got it.”

The gamer said he was “grateful to have hope in finding this early,” and encouraged his followers to “please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups.”

With 19 million Twitch followers, 12.4 million Instagram followers and 6.6 million on X, Blevins is one of the most famous competitors in video gaming. In 2019, he appeared as the character “Ice Cream” on Fox’s The Masked Singer. (See his reveal below.)

According to The Cleveland Clinic, melanoma accounts for only about 1% of all skin cancers (as opposed to the more common basal and squamous cell carcinomas), but causes the majority of skin cancer-related deaths. It’s one of the most common cancers in young people under 30, especially in young women. The Clinic says most skin cancers can be cured if caught early and treated before they have a chance to spread.

  • TikTokers caught the commotion outside the Big Apple store following a dispute about who was at the front of the line for the 80 percent discount event
  • One woman described the scene as ‘ghetto’ and said shoppers had even ‘broken the glass of one of the doors’ as one girl had been taken away in an ambulance
  • A time lapse of the people waiting in line showed that close to 10,000 hopeful bargain hunters had turned out to the event only to leave empty-handed

A Versace sample sale in New York City had to be shut down by cops after a violent brawl allegedly broke out between bargain-hunters.

TikTokers caught the commotion outside the Big Apple store following a dispute about who was at the front of the line of around 10,000 people, who had been waiting around 24 hours for the 80 percent discount event.

One woman described the scene as ‘ghetto’ and said shoppers had even ‘broken the glass of one of the doors’ while one girl had been taken away in an ambulance after she was ‘trampled’.

‘If you were thinking about coming to the New York City Versace sale, don’t come,’ one woman at the scene said on TikTok

‘It’s ghetto here. It’s ghetto. It got shut down. They even broke the glass of one of the doors.

‘They’ve been fighting each other, some girl had to leave out in the ambulance because she got trampled.’

A man outside the store said the violence was sparked by a dispute about who was at the front of the line.

‘People ran to the front and then they stayed at the front, and then the people in the second batch argued about it and then total chaos ensued,’ he said in another TikTok video.

‘They promised that the second half of the line was going to go in first before everybody else, but they didn’t honor it,’ his friend added.

‘So now there’s a whole gabble in the front, people are not moving their cars, people are fighting the staff, people are fighting each other… they canceled the sale!’

A one-minute time lapse of the people waiting in line showed that close to 10,000 hopeful bargain hunters had turned out to the event only to leave empty-handed.

‘New Yorkers are crazy again!’ the user who posted the time-lapse said in the caption, adding that ‘more than 9,999 people waited 24 hours in line for the 80 percent discount event.

Meanwhile, one intrepid shopper who traveled from out of state for the sale said: ‘I can’t believe it.

‘I came all the way to New York for the Versace sale and left with nothing… they shut the whole thing down. This is wild.’

She added that the sample sale was supposed to be running from Wednesday until Saturday but shoppers had been left confused as to whether it was canceled completely.

Her video showed hundreds of people milling around beside several NYPD vehicles with blue lights flashing at the scene.

It is unclear how the alleged fight started.

Star Trek’s Jonathan Frakes Calls One Strange New Worlds Season 3 Episode His ‘Best’ Ever

0

Thrillingly, the show is bringing Jonathan Frakes, the actor and filmmaker behind season 2’s “Star Trek: Lower Decks” crossover episode “Those Old Scientists,” on to direct the murder mystery episode of season 3. Frakes, who played William Riker for seven seasons of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” as well as several movies and the final season of “Star Trek: Picard,” says the upcoming genre outing is “the best episode of television [he’s] ever done.” That’s certainly saying something coming from the actor-turned-director, as he’s stepped behind the camera for 29 episodes of “Trek” and counting.

In addition to “Those Old Scientists,” Frakes’ past “Star Trek” directorial efforts include several standout episodes of “The Next Generation,” from the trippy time loop story “Cause and Effect” to the courtroom drama “The Drumhead” to “The Offspring,” a one-off in which Data (Brent Spiner) raises a child android. Other well-received “Trek” episodes directed by Frakes include the Odo-centric “Deep Space Nine” premiere “The Search, Part II,” the intense Section 31-set “Star Trek: Discovery” episode “Project Daedalus,” and two of the best episodes of “Star Trek: Picard” season 3 – and the show in general, for that matter.

With so many epic “Trek” episodes under his belt, the fact that Frakes thinks his return to “Strange New Worlds” is a career-high makes us all the more excited for it. Elsewhere in the cover story, the actor-director spoke positively about the behind-the-scenes teams that have brought the Paramount+ era of “Trek” together. “The scope was so much different than anything we had ever done on ‘Next Gen,'” Frakes said when talking about the property’s epic return to TV in the 2010s. “Every department has the resources to create.” Fans will get to see just what they’ve created with the new murder mystery episode when “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” returns to the streamer sometime in 2025.

Hundreds of cops line Long Island street to salute hearse carrying slain cop Jonathan Diller as thug nicknamed ‘killa’ is marched into court in connection to shooting

0

Hundreds of NYPD officers descended on a Queens courthouse Wednesday as a suspect was charged in connection with the broad daylight slaying of a cop.

One of the suspects in Monday’s horror cop shooting, Lindy Jones, 41, was arraigned and charged with weapons possession.

Prosecutors said he had been found with a ‘ghost gun’ – meaning its serial number was removed to avoid it being traced – and it was believed he and the shooter were casing out a T-Mobile store.

The man cops say pulled the trigger, Guy Rivera, 34, remains in stable condition in hospital after he was shot by the partner of victim officer Jonathan Diller, 31, in the shooting.

On the outskirts of the city in Massapequa, Long Island, at the same time Jones was in court, around 1,000 officers lined the streets as Diller’s body was transferred to Massapequa Funeral Home.

Diller, a married father of a one-year-old boy, was allegedly shot dead by Rivera during a traffic stop. The death has sparked a huge response from the police community, with NYPD Commissioner Edward Cavan branding him a ‘hero.’

With Rivera still in hospital, Jones was perp walked Wednesday out of Queens Supreme Court shortly before his arraignment.

It was heard on Wednesday that Jones – who has a history of 14 arrests including a 10 year stint in prison on attempted murder from 2003 – has refused to talk with detectives since his arrest on Tuesday night.

Officials say that Jones was behind the wheel of a car that was parked illegally in front of a bus lane, leading Diller and his partner to approach them shortly before 6pm Monday.

After Rivera allegedly refused to roll down his window or show his hands, he opened fire on Diller, hitting the young officer under his bullet proof vest.

After Diller’s partner returned fire, both Rivera and Diller were rushed to hospital. The officer was later pronounced dead, while Jones remains in stable condition.

At Wednesday’s hearing, prosecutors said Jones was charged with gun possession and possession of a defaced firearm, meaning he used a ghost gun.

He was held without bail as officials cited Jones’ history of skipping court dates in the past.

Prosecutors said a search warrant was issued on the vehicle in the shooting, which uncovered a second firearm.

Investigators believe Jones and Rivera had been casing out a T-Mobile store before the shooting.

Horrific surveillance footage captured the moment the young NYPD cop writhed in agony on the streets of New York after being shot.

In the new footage, three loud gunshots are heard ringing out as bystanders flee for safety.

Despite being shot, Diller heroically moved the gun away from the shooter after it was dropped on the ground, NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said during a press briefing.

In the footage of the shooting, the quiet street was emptied within seconds as the shots rang out.

Witness Dean Peters said Diller erupted with screams of agony, adding: ‘He was moving, he was saying, ‘I’m hit, I’m hit!’ Giving location and all that.

‘Like he was crying, like he was really crying.’

Tributes poured in for Diller after his sudden death, as he leaves behind his wife and infant son.

‘Tonight this city lost a hero, a wife lost her husband, and a young child lost their father,’ NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban wrote on X.

‘We struggle to find the words to express the tragedy of losing one of our own. The work that Police Officer Jonathan Diller did each day to make this city a safer place will NEVER be forgotten.

‘Our prayers are with his family, loved ones, and brothers and sisters in blue.’

New York City Mayor Eric Adams branded the shooting a ‘senseless act of violence’ at a press conference outside Jamaica Hospital.

‘I can’t not say it any clearer: It is the good guys against the bad guys, and these bad guys are violent,’ Adams, a former cop, added.

Following Rivera’s arrest, it emerged that he has a lengthy criminal history including first degree robbery, illegal gun possession and assaults.

He had 21 prior arrests and previously served five years in prison on drug charges before being paroled in 2021.

Rivera had also been incarcerated from 2011 to 2014 over a first-degree assault charge.

Jones had 14 prior arrests, including a conviction for attempted murder and robbery in 2003 that saw him serve 10 years behind bars.

He had been arrested on gun charges last April, but was released on a $75,000 bail that was set to bring him back to court Monday.

Following Jones’ April arrest, where he was caught with a loaded firearm, Mayor Adams said that he was a prime example of a ‘recidivist problem’ – meaning a small number of perpetrators committing a large number of crimes.

‘Same bad people doing bad things to good people,’ Adams added.

Rob Wade Restructures Fox Entertainment Operations

0

EXCLUSIVE: Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade is realigning the company’s content and business operations into three groups, the Fox Television Network, Fox Entertainment Studios and sales arm Fox Entertainment Global.

The restructuring includes new senior leadership roles for Michael Thorn, who has been named President of the Fox Television Network, and Fernando Szew who will serve as Head of Fox Entertainment Studios. They will lead two of the three divisions, continuing to report to Wade. Fox’s Unscripted President Allison Wallach will be part of Szew’s team on the studio side.

The changes create a streamlined structure that keeps network, studio and distribution operations separate under different leaders as opposed to the previous setup where both the scripted and unscripted for network and studio were overseen by the same executive.

“Under this new structure, every division of Fox Entertainment is now poised for growth and creative excellence as we super-serve our audiences everywhere,” Wade said. “Now the work begins.”

Fox Entertainment is consolidating all studio businesses globally under Szew, Founding Partner and CEO of MarVista Entertainment and most recently CEO of Fox Entertainment Global. The newly created Fox Entertainment Studios will consist of the Emmy Award-winning animation studio Bento Box Entertainment, which produces Fox’s animated series Krapopolis, Grimsburg, Bob’s Burgers and series for third-party platforms; Fox Alternative Entertainment, home to The Masked Singer; Fox scripted studios, which is behind the network’s first owned live-action comedy Animal Control; prolific made-for-platform movie producer MarVista Entertainment; Studio Ramsay Global, launched in partnership with Gordon Ramsay; and Harvey Levin’s entertainment studio TMZ.

Thorn, most recently President of Fox Entertainment, Scripted Programming, will also oversee the network’s unscripted fare, including hits such as The Masked Singer and the Gordon Ramsay shows.

He will manage the network’s scripted, unscripted and casting teams led by Brooke Bowman, EVP, Drama Programming and Development; Cheryl Dolins, SVP, Comedy and Animation Programming and Development; Yasmin Rawji, EVP, Unscripted; and Brittainy Roberts, SVP, Casting, respectively. Thorn, an architect of Fox’s animated slate ramp-up of the last several years, will also remains a member of the Bento Box Entertainment Steering Committee.

Thorn, who previously oversaw the Fox scripted studios, will collaborate closely with Szew on scripted development and production.

Allison Wallach, who has been President, Unscripted Programming at Fox, will now join Szew’s team as Head of Global Unscripted Programming for Fox Entertainment Studios, leading all creative and production for the division’s unscripted entertainment, which includes global formats owned and produced by FAE, including Beat My Mini-Mes (TF1/France), Marriage Market (ProSieben/Germany); and Celebrity Masterpiece (Workpoint/Thailand), among others.

The changes see Wallach move back to the studio side after running Fox Alternative Entertainment between 2020 and the end of 2022. Over the past year and a half she had also been overseeing unscripted at the Fox network.

The change for Wallach won’t impact John Hesling who took over running Fox Alternative Entertainment in March 2023. He will remain at the studio.

With Szew moving to his new studio role, there will be a search for his replacement as head of Fox Entertainment’s worldwide content sales unit Fox Entertainment Global. It will be led on an interim basis by Tony Vassiliadis, EVP of FEG, reporting to Wade.

A well liked veteran development executive who previously ran then-20th Century Fox TV’s drama department, Thorn joined Fox as Entertainment President more than six and a half years ago. He has steered the network’s scripted operations ever since as it made the transition from a vertically integrated broadcast net to an independent following the 2019 Disney acquisition of 21st Century Fox assets.

Over the past few of years, he has revamped Fox’s development model, largely foregoing pilots (except for rare comedy presentations) in favor of more cost-efficient straight-to-series orders.

Most recently, he has spearheaded an international content expansion, which involves developing and producing scripted series with local creators and studios in English-language territories. The strategy has yielded a drama series pickup for Canadian psychological crime drama Murder in a Small Town, and comedy presentation order for UK’s Meet The Kumars.

Szew’s new role comes two years after Fox acquired his MarVista Entertainent company. Szew founded that company, with Michael Jacobs, in 2003, initially as a distribution company, before moving into original series and television movies.

The company has a library of around 2,500 hours of content with around 80 new movies per year. It has become a big supplier to Fox’s own ad-free streaming service Tubi. Recent tiles include Daughter of the Bride with Marcia Gay Harden, Christmas is Canceled starring Dermot Mulroney and Chrissy Metz’s Stay Awake.

In his most recent role as CEO of Fox Entertainment Global, he has been overseeing international sales for Fox’s owned series — both scripted and unscripted — including live-action comedy Animal Control and animated Krapopolis.

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies says ‘the end of the BBC’ is ‘undoubtedly on its way

0

The showrunner of the BBC’s hit sci-fi drama Doctor Who has said ‘the end of the BBC’ is ‘undoubtedly on its way’.

Russell T Davies suggested the BBC’s decision to join forces with Disney to produce the series, could potentially help the show outlive the UK broadcaster.

In an embarrassing intervention for the corporation from one of its biggest names, the screenwriter and producer said: ‘You’ve also got to look in the long term at the end of the BBC, which is somehow, surely, undoubtedly, on its way in some shape or form.’

He added: ‘What’s Doctor Who going to die then? No! You’ve got to prepare for that kind of stuff.’

Mr Davies said before he agreed to return to the show, he had already said Doctor Who should become a co-production, as the BBC would not be able to fund it to compete with streaming giants.

Russell T Davies suggested the BBC’s decision to join forces with Disney to produce the series, could potentially help the show outlive the UK broadcaster

He said it would be a ‘real shame’ if Doctor Who was not up there with the ‘big-hitters’ like The Mandalorian and Marvel shows.

Speaking to the podcast series They Like to Watch, Mr Davies said: ‘If Disney collapsed tomorrow and we had to go back to making Doctor Who on a normal BBC budget, you know what? We’d all rally round and make it and suddenly stories would become claustrophobic ghost stories.’

He said: ‘A lot of people would like that very much. So I’m not saying you have to have this happen. But while it’s happening elsewhere, I think it’s unfair that it doesn’t happen to Doctor Who.’

Mr Davies was behind the revival of Doctor Who in 2005, with Christopher Eccleston playing the Time Lord before leaving the show in 2010. He returned to take control of the series again last year.

Ncuti Ghani (above) will play the Doctor in season 14 of the iconic show, with the first episode set to hit screens on May 11

His other hits include Channel 4’s It’s a Sin and the BBC1 drama Years and Years.

Mr Davies has previously claimed the BBC is ‘doomed’ and heading for extinction.

In 2021 he said while drama is in a ‘golden age’ with streaming giants such as Netflix, the state of traditional broadcasters ‘is not so magnificent.’

The comments by Mr Davies are all the more embarrassing for the BBC as they have emerged the day after director-general laid out his vision for the corporation’s important role in the future.

Tim Davie’s speech had been called A BBC for the Future and it identified key roles for the BBC to ‘pursue the truth with no agenda’, ‘back British storytelling’ and ‘bring people together’.

Ramy Youssef’s Dreams Shattered By Kenan Thompson

0

“I am honored to be the first Arab host of Saturday Night Live, says comedian Ramy Youssef in the initial promo for his hosting gig.

“I’m sorry to interrupt,” says cast-member Kenan Thompson, “but you’re actually not the first to host.”

A seemingly-embarrassed Youssef then goes on to add a list of qualifiers in hope laying claim to being some kind of “first” in the show’s storied history. Thompson shoots them down one by one until Youssef gets to a designation go granular it’s meaningless. You can watch the bit below.

Youssef is set to host this Saturday, March 30 with Travis Scott serving as the night’s musical host. It’s his first go in Studio 8H.

He is currently promoting his new comedy special titled Ramy Youssef: More Feelings premiering on March 23 via HBO.

Parents’ fury as girls’ soccer team featuring FIVE trans players destroys opposition 10-0 on way to winning grand final – with one biological male scoring SIX goals in one game

0

  • A transgender row has erupted at a girls’ soccer tournament
  • The Flying Bats dominated the Beryl Ackroyd Cup
  • One trans player reportedly scored six goals in a 10-0 win

A row has erupted after a girl’s football team consisting of five transgender players won the pre-season Beryl Ackroyd Cup tournament in Sydney, Australia.

Flying Bats FC won every game they played over the course of the four-week competition, winning the grand final 4-0 at Macquarie Park on Sunday to take home the $1000 jackpot.

There were huge winning margins in some games, with one trans player scoring six goals in a 10-0 victory.

Furious parents have withdrawn their daughters from games due to safety concerns, telling News Corp that the women were unaware that they had signed up to compete against biological males.

Club officials have also contacted Football NSW to express their concerns, with some insisting that the Flying Bats should play in the mixed competition which includes men.

‘Our girls are here to play for fun and expect to play in the female competition. They did not sign up for a mixed competition,’ a senior club official told the Daily Telegraph.

‘There’s no transparency from Football NSW, the girls don’t know if they are going to be playing biological males or not.

‘Some of the parents were so concerned they would not let their daughters play … It was so disheartening for them to see thehuge difference in ability – they’re killing it.’

On the Flying Bats’ official website, they claim they are ‘the biggest LGBTQIA+ women’s and non-binary football club in the world’.

John Ruddick, a Libertarian Party MP who has campaigned on the issue of retaining biological sex rights, also blasted the scenes in the North West Sydney League.

‘It’s not just a question of fair sportsmanship,’ Mr Ruddick said. ‘It’s also a question of physical safety for female playersborn female.’

Binary Australia spokeswoman Kirralie Smith said: ‘North West Sydney Football and Football NSW continue to put girls at risk and create an unfair playing field,’ Ms Smith said. ‘Many teams are stressed about the situation.’

She also alleged that some teams were told not to complain or refuse to play else they would be fined and referred to Anti-DiscriminationNSW.

A Football NSW spokesperson said the organisation takes ‘pride in being at the forefront of developing inclusive policies for the sport in Australia and operates within the existing legal framework, including anti-discrimination legislation.

‘Football NSW continues to align with Football Australia’s adoption of the Australian Human Rights Commission’s ‘Guidelines for the inclusion of transgender and gender diverse people in sport’, under which, community players are permitted to participate in Football on the basis of the gender with which they identify.’
