The Golden State Warriors will get a big boost ahead of their cross-conference matchup against the Washington Wizards on Monday with the return of Stephen Curry.
The two-time MVP is set to return in Washington after missing the team’s last three games due to a left peroneal (foot/ankle) strain, head coach Steve Kerr confirmed to reporters.
Curry appeared in three games before the injury, averaging 18.3 points on 40.7 per cent shooting from deep to go with 5.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists. Those numbers are slightly below his career average of 24.7 points and the 26 he averaged last year as the NBA’s Clutch Player of the Year winner.
The Warriors haven’t skipped a beat without Curry, however, cruising to a 5-1 record. Golden State boasts the league’s fourth-ranked offence and second-best defence to this point.
