Canadiens recall defenceman Logan Mailloux from AHL Laval

The Montreal Canadiens are recalling defenceman Logan Mailloux from the Laval Rocket ahead of their game against the New York Islanders on Saturday, the team announced Friday.

Mailloux, 21, was sent to Laval in the final round of cuts to end training camp earlier this month. He played four pre-season games, recording one assist and is a plus-six.

The Belle River, Ont., native made his NHL debut at the conclusion of last season, playing one game and notching one assist.

Mailloux spent the 2023-24 season with the Canadiens’ farm club, playing 72 games, wherein he scored 14 goals and and 33 assists.

He was selected in the first round, 31st overall, by the Canadiens at the 2021 NHL Draft.
