2027 DB Jackson Tucker breaks down commitment to Boston College

Boston College has its first commit of the 2027 cycle. Defensive back Jackson Tucker announced his pledge to the Eagles on Monday night.

Tucker currently attends Catholic Memorial in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.

“Why not stay home and learn from the best,” Tucker told Rivals when asked about his decision to commit to Boston College.

He is plenty familiar with Boston College. Not only is Tucker an in-state prospect, but his brother, Max Tucker, is currently a sophomore defensive back for the Eagles. As such, he has been a frequent visitor to Chestnut Hill and plans to be at more BC games this season.

BC offered the younger Tucker in June after he performed well during a camp.

Jackson Tucker will play his college ball under head coach Bill O’Brien, defensive coordinator Tim Lewis, secondary coach Ray Brown and the rest of the Boston College staff.

While he doesn’t play the position, Jackson Tucker has also built a strong bond with BC quarterbacks coach Jonathan DiBiaso.

“The BC staff really allows me to feel at home and also makes me feel wanted since they offered me so early in my high school career,” Jackson said. “The staff with Coach Brown, Coach O’Brien and Coach DiBiaso all make me feel highly-valued.”

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back is projected to play safety at the college level. He has not yet been evaluated by Rivals.

“I’d say I can do whatever a coach wants and I would say I am an aggressive safety that can really come down and tackle,” he said when asked to describe his game.

While Boston College is on the board early for the 2027 class, the Eagles also already have five commitments in the 2026 class, and rank in the top-25 nationally. Meanwhile, BC’s 2025 class includes 23 current commitments and ranks 45th nationally.
