The biggest visits on tap for this weekend
As National Signing Day gets closer, visits are ramping up with only a couple regular-season weekends left. Here is a look at 12 of the biggest trips coming up.
Michael Fasusi – Texas
Is this the start of the five-star offensive tackle flipping to Texas from Oklahoma? There are mixed opinions on whether the Lewisville, Texas, native will stick with the Sooners or whether Fasusi is really warming up to the Longhorns.
He is expected to see UT this weekend and then head to Texas A&M (which also remains in this recruitment) the following week where he’ll see – you guessed it – Texas again.
Zavion Griffin-Haynes – Ohio State
North Carolina landed a commitment from the four-star defensive end out of Rolesville, N.C., in September which was partially surprising since Griffin-Haynes talked so highly throughout his recruitment about the Buckeyes.
Now he’ll be back in Columbus when it counts.
The Tar Heels could definitely hang on considering coach Mack Brown said he’s coming back and the location, but Ohio State has always intrigued him.
Javion Hilson – Florida
What’s happening in Hilson’s recruitment is anyone’s guess and maybe a surprise is coming. Texas is still in good shape with the five-star defensive end but he’ll be visiting Texas A&M next weekend (to see the Longhorns as well) and he loved trips to Syracuse and Pitt.
And now the Cocoa, Fla., standout will be heading to Florida, which might have some momentum as well. This could be a really interesting trip to Gainesville.
Byron Louis – Florida
Is the writing on the wall here for another flip from Florida State to Florida? The four-star running back visited Gainesville last weekend and spent a lot of time with new QB commit Tramell Jones, who flipped from the Seminoles, and now the Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage standout is coming back to town with his parents. This will definitely be one to watch heading into signing day.
Jeramiah McCloud – Georgia
McCloud was committed to Mississippi State early on only to flip to Florida in May but now Georgia has been making a serious push and this one could be a battle until signing day.
The Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County standout has not been shy about looking at other programs but it’s become clear that the Bulldogs have become the biggest threat so this weekend’s trip will be big in determining McCloud’s final destination.
Stephen Miller – South Carolina
After flipping from Mississippi State to USC in October, Miller will be back on the road this weekend visiting South Carolina and this will be a big one to watch. Not only are the Gamecocks playing really well right now, there has been a rumor in recent days that Miller and Greensboro (Ga.) Greene County teammate Kevin Wynn could be a package deal – with the destination being Columbia.
This could be an important first step in that process.
Daune Morris – Tennessee
A few weeks ago, Morris said everything was still the same in his recruitment and that his USC commitment made in April still stood. But the Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Oakland standout also acknowledged that he had a visit this weekend to Tennessee and the Volunteers are working very hard to flip him. What happens after he’s in Knoxville this weekend? Morris will have a decision to make.
Andrew Olesh – Michigan
Oregon, Penn State, Notre Dame and others are working to flip the four-star tight end from Center Valley (Pa.) Southern Lehigh but he’s been committed to Michigan since July and the news that five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood is now in the Wolverines’ class has to help their efforts with Olesh.
This weekend could solidify things in his recruitment but the others won’t give up until he signs.
Jaron Sagapolutele – Cal
The visit schedule for Sagapolutele has been altered so much in recent weeks it’s hard to keep up but this is basically it: The Cal commit will return to Berkeley this weekend and then head to Georgia. But there’s also a decent chance the four-star quarterback from Ewa Beach (Hawaii) Campbell doesn’t end up at either of those schools.
Oregon is also looming large in his recruitment as Sagapolutele loves the Hawaiian QB history there and that is definitely playing a big factor.
Jahkeem Stewart – Oregon
Oregon does not even have a game this weekend but that’s why this latest visit to Eugene is so important for the five-star defensive end from New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr.
Stewart will have basically the coaching staff’s complete and undivided attention since not many recruits are expected and the Ducks have been a favorite for some time with Stewart, who also has USC high along with LSU and Ohio State in his top four.
This could be a game-changer visit for him after a great USC visit.
Justus Terry – Auburn
Can Auburn change Terry’s mind? The word for weeks is that Georgia is the clear front-runner in his recruitment and he’s looking toward signing day to make the announcement in his hometown of Manchester, Ga., but this visit could throw the wrench in the works.
Auburn is just over an hour away from home – about half the distance from Athens – and that could be a selling point, as is Terry’s ability to get on the field from Day 1 on The Plains. We’ll see.
Dallas Wilson – Florida
The high four-star receiver from Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Bay Tech remains committed to Oregon – which he picked way back in January 2023 – but if he shows up in Gainesville this weekend as expected then it could get really interesting.
With quarterback DJ Lagway playing well and the future for the Gators, plus some recruiting momentum in recent weeks, WIlson could be having a second look at staying closer to home. But the Ducks still look to be in great shape for now.
