Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis will start Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, head coach Brian Callahan announced Friday according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Levis has missed time with a shoulder injury he sustained in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins. He started the team’s Week 6 loss against the Indianapolis Colts after their bye week, but has not seen the field since then.
Mason Rudolph took over under centre in Levis’s absence and led the Titans to a 1-2 record.
Levis and the Titans will face a tough test against the Chargers’ defence on Sunday, who are giving up a league-best 12.6 points allowed per game.
The second-year pro has completed 66.4 per cent of his passes for 699 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions in his five starts this season.
The Titans currently hold a 2-6 record and sit in third place in the AFC South division.
