Dejounte Murray‘s time with the New Orleans Pelicans is getting off to a rocky start.
The Pelicans point guard is feared to have suffered a fractured left hand in the team’s 123-111 opening-night win over the Chicago Bulls, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Wednesday.
It’s not clear when the injury occurred. Murray played well into the fourth quarter in the blowout win, only subbing out of the game with one minute to go.
Murray played well in his regular-season debut with New Orleans, finishing with 14 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and a steal in 29 minutes.
The 28-year-old was acquired by the Pelicans in the off-season in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks.
He averaged 22.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game with the Hawks last season.
