When the Minnesota Wild take on their divisional foe in Winnipeg on Sunday, they’ll do so without Joel Eriksson Ek.
According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, he did not travel with the team after suffering an injury in the second period on Saturday, when Seattle Kraken defenceman Adam Larsson caught him in the nose with an elbow.
There was no penalty called on the play.
Eriksson Ek left for the remainder of the period but returned in the third for one shift, wearing a bubble shield on his helmet, before leaving the game once again.
What kind of injury the 27-year-old may be dealing with is currently unknown as Wild head coach John Hynes did not provide an update post-game.
The game against the Jets marks the start of a seven-game road trip for the Wild.
