Packers QB Jordan Love helped off field against Eagles

The Green Bay Packers got a big scare at the end of their Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles when quarterback Jordan Love needed to be helped off the field with an injury.

With the Packers needing a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, Love was attempting to make a reverse pass but appeared to tweak something in his right leg when he was tackled awkwardly by two Eagles defenders.

Love stayed on the field before getting help from the medical staff to get to the Green Bay sideline.

The 25-year-old completed 50 per cent of his passes for 260 yards, two touchdowns and an interception before leaving for the final few plays.

Backup quarterback Malik Willis would come in to replace Love, throwing an incompletion before getting sacked to end the game.

The Packers made a sizeable investment in Love during the off-season, signing their franchise quarterback to a four-year contract extension worth $220 million. The deal included a $75 million signing bonus and $155 million in new guarantees.

Green Bay lost Friday’s game against the Eagles 34-29.
