With macOS Sequoia just announced, Apple has also revealed the list of supported devices for this upcoming operating system. Expected to launch later this fall, around the time Cupertino unveils the iPhone 16, macOS 15 continues to drop support for Intel Macs as Apple focuses on computers with its own chips.

The new system adds an AI-focused experience and uses Apple Intelligence to power several of the built-in apps, such as Safari, Notes, Mail, Calendar, Siri, and more. That said, by adding these new experiences, not every Mac supported by macOS Sonoma will get macOS 15.

This is the list of macOS Sequoia supported devices:

  • 2019 iMac and later
  • 2017 iMac Pro
  • 2020 MacBook Air and later
  • 2018 MacBook Pro and later
  • 2019 Mac Pro and later
  • 2018 Mac mini and later
  • 2022 Mac Studio and later

As you can see, Apple is fast approaching the end of Intel Mac support as this new system is only available for a few of the latest models, such as the 2019 MacBook Pro and the 2019 Mac Pro. In addition to that, there are several exclusive features that only Apple Silicon Macs can run, which means the company is pushing customers to upgrade to Apple’s latest and greatest Macs.

Alongside macOS Sequoia, Apple has also previewed iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, and visionOS 2.0. Several features are coming to Apple users in the coming months, and BGR will bring all the latest details as Cupertino starts testing these new operating system updates.

Besides that, the iPhone 16 is fast approaching. We expect Apple’s newest phone to be announced by September, alongside the new macOS 15 release date.
