‘1923’ Start Brandon Sklenar Joins Blumhouse Pic ‘Drop’

EXCLUSIVE: Following his breakout role in 1923, Brandon Sklenar looks to have found his next feature film project as he is set to join Christoper Landon’s film Drop from Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse. Meghann Fahy is also on board with Landon directing.

The film’s logline is being kept under wraps, but it’s said to be a fast-paced thriller.

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach penned the script, with Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes — producing. Sam Lerner is an executive producer. The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.

The partnership between the two production companies has delivered huge results from its Purge franchise that includes five films with the sixth on the way as well as a TV series.

Sklenar will next star in Sony’s film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel It Ends With Us in the role of Atlas Corrigan, opposite Blake Lively. The novel was the top-selling print book in the US in 2022 and remained on the New York Times bestseller list for over 90 weeks. Sklenar also appears in the Paramount+ series 1923, where he played Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren nephew. While the show had plenty of star power from Ford and Mirren, Sklenar made his mark and its expected to grow with season 2 going into production this summer.

In 2022, Sklenar won the Best Actor award at the Vienna Independent Film Festival for his role as Sean Graves in Futra Days. Additional credits include playing the role of Burt Reynolds in the series The Offer, opposite Miles Teller; Adam McKay’s films Vice as Bobby Prentace; and Midway as George Gay.

He is repped by WME.
