All compatible Apple Watch models

With the announcement of watchOS 11, Apple has also revealed the list of supported devices for this upcoming operating system update. Expected to launch later this fall, around the time Cupertino unveils the iPhone 16, watchOS 11 ditches support for more Apple Watch models, even though this upcoming update doesn’t add up much.

This is the list of watchOS 11 supported devices:

  • Apple Watch Series 6
  • Apple Watch Series 7
  • Apple Watch Series 8
  • Apple Watch Series 9
  • Apple Watch SE 2
  • Apple Watch Ultra
  • Apple Watch Ultra 2

As you can see, at once, Apple ditched support for the Apple Watch Series 4 and the first Apple Watch with Always-On Display, Series 5. In addition, the first-generation Apple Watch SE is no longer supported. With that, even though the processor doesn’t change much from one generation to the other, Cupertino has focused on wearables with more health sensors embedded.

Alongside watchOS 11, Apple has also previewed iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, macOS 15, and visionOS 2.0. Several features are coming to Apple users in the coming months, and BGR will bring all the latest details as Cupertino starts testing these new operating system updates.

Besides that, the iPhone 16 is fast approaching. We expect Apple’s newest phone to be announced by September, alongside the new watchOS 11 release date.
